The Community School comprises two programs: a junior high/high school, and a young adult transition program. Both programs serve individuals who are autistic, including those with Asperger Syndrome; more broadly, the programs work with individuals who have had difficulty keeping pace in traditional settings, and who need more emphasis on social-emotional development, communication and relationship skills, and contextual, experiential learning.
Our School Program is accredited and offers a college prep diploma, a career/tech diploma, and a developmental certificate.
The Community School is located in downtown Decatur, Georgia, a wonderful, diverse, walkable urban community with a variety of culture, entertainment, employment opportunities, residences, and colleges. Decatur is served by the MARTA subway and has excellent public transportation overall.
